I live in an area called Franklin Hills, adjacent to both Silverlake and Los Feliz, (formerly on the border of all three but officially in Franklin Hills). Below shows the area that I live in:

Griffith Park is only minutes from my house, at 4,107 acres, it is the largest municipal park in the USA and home to the Hollywood sign. Althouth I live just a few blocks from Sunset Blvd, I am some distance from the famous Sunset Strip, but close enough to visit any time. The only one remaining today is now ABC Television Studios, (about six blocks). Just five or six blocks away is the famous Griffith Studios where some of the greatest movies of all time were made, (a grocery today). Down the street from there was the first home of Fox Studios and just a little further from that was the birthplace of Warner Brothers. The studios moved further west in to what is now the core of the Hollywood business district. This is only the beginning of the studio history in my area. Workship: For pictures of my workshop, click here: In August, I took on the the project of breaking up and removing the concrete in the front yard. The former owner poured concrete throughout the front yard, (less grass mowing). Below are some pictures of that project:
Dishwasher Project: To install my new dishwasher, I had to install a garbage disposal, build a cabinet extenstion to the existing cabinet/counter and plumb/wire and install the dishwasher. Below are some photos of the progress:

Bedroom Window and Air Conditioning Project: I installed a new bedroom vinyl window and mounted the air conditioner through the wall so it would not block natural light. Below are some pictures from this project:
Tree Row Project-In the fall of 05, I started the tree row landscape project. I had to run a 4 inch drain pipe, irrigation plumbing, sprinkler valve and landscape lighting wiring under the sidewalk from the main yard to the tree row. To do this, I had to dig a huge hole on the yard side of the sidewalk, and a smaller hole on tree row side. Then, I tunneled under the sidewalk. I installed a valve and valve vault in the tree row, and the irrigation and landscape lighting and the drain pipe.
